We have a shared motor pool available for faculty/staff transportation. Students are eligible to apply to be in the car sharing program as well.
We also have an internal Ride Exchange and Marketplace service designated for students, faculty and staff. The Hope community can find links to these anytime in the “Resources” menu on inHope (our internal website).
"Ride Exchange is a website on our campus Intranet for the Hope Community to share rides to home, the airport or elsewhere. If you need a ride, start by looking in the Can Give a Ride category for someone who is available. If there is no ride posted, submit a new post by clicking the Submit link at the top of the page and filling out the form."
This is now being recommended more frequently for travel events like holiday break, long weekends, study abroad planning, and May-July Term Courses when students/faculty/ may be flying and they can share rides to the airport.

As part of LEED certification for the Jack Miller Building we installed signs for two front row parking spots: 1) Fuel Efficient Vehicle 2) Carpool Parking.
We also have two electric vehicle charging stations on campus near two different buildings. Both have spaces with signage for EV parking only and they are in the front row of the parking lot. Both chargers are accessible from two parking spots.

Two - one station is at our Haworth Inn and Conference Center and one station is in a general staff/faculty parking lot near the middle of campus. Both of these are free charging.
There are other stations located throughout the City of Holland as well.

A stable core-city neighborhood is vital to the mission of Hope College and to the Holland Community. The "Walk to Work Program" has been established to combat neighborhood deterioration, to improve the quality of life for members of the community and to serve as a catalyst for further efforts to improve core city neighborhoods. The "Walk to Work Program" provides financial incentives for Hope College and Creative Dining Services employees desiring to live in the targeted neighborhoods surrounding the College.

Starting in the summer of 2017 (and continuing through this upcoming 2020), the Sustainability Institute is a partner in a "Bike Holland" Series which promotes usage of the new bike lanes installed throughout the City. These rides are open to faculty, staff, students, and community members.
The series is featured on our campus calendar and was also promoted through email, social media channels, new employee training, campus intranet, and the local Holland Sentinel Newspaper.
Hope is also a participant in the annual Green Commute Week and hosts a "Hope Green Team." http://www.the-macc.org/green-commute/
The bus and train station are less than a mile from campus and these forms of transportation is encouraged as well.
