There is a per student fee collected each semester. It is included in the "Activity & Support Services Fee" charged to each student and then divided into different department accounts. A portion of each student fee is put into the "Green Fund"each semester.

A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:
The funds must only be utilized for student activities, events, facility upgrades, or needs related to sustainability. The fund managers are the Director of Operations/CSO, Green Team Chair, and Director for the Office of Sustainability and for larger projects/funding needs it must be be discussed with the Hope College Green Team. https://hope.edu/offices/sustainability/staff/green-team.html
