Our primary supplier, GFS, provides us with a procurement summary of all sustainable food and beverage purchases. This report can give us all suppliers and growers that we have purchased from our locations. In addition, all of our purchases from our dairy cooperative, meat market, apple orchard, bagel supplier, sorbet manufacturer and local bakery are considered local.

Hope College Dining Services is dedicated to providing the best possible dining experience, while also making sustainable choices in the purchasing of their food and beverage products. Hope works with Gordon Food Services to obtain a list of all local manufacturers and growers, and from that list determines where to purchase products. Hope also contracts directly with some local growers, such as for apples, dairy products, and meat products. Hope College Dining Services operates under a trademarked sustainable purchasing platform called FarmStead. FarmStead includes vetted suppliers based upon Creative Dining Services sustainable supplier criteria.

Excess prepared food in good condition is donated to a local Community Kitchen on a weekly basis. This organization opens their doors to anyone in the community in need of a meal and support.
