In 2019 Hope College earned national recognition for its sustainability practices in grounds management.The college has received an Honor Award for exceptional grounds maintenance in the 2019 Green Star Awards competition of the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) in the University and College Grounds-Small category.
