A brief description of how multiple stakeholder groups were involved in developing the plan:

The Hope College Sustainability Task Force (Green Team) is comprised of faculty, staff, and students. This team collaborated to developed Hope's sustainability plan in 2009.


A brief description of the plan’s measurable goals :

The main goals of this plan include: completing a comprehensive environmental audit of the campus, investigating and implementing additional measures to make Hope a more sustainable campus, monitoring progress and cost effectiveness, exploring ways to make stewardship of the environment a more prominent part of the college educational experience for all students, establishing effective communications systems with the campus and community on environmental issues, establishing relationships with off-campus organizations pursuing like or complementary goals, and proposing a structure to ensure ongoing progress on campus sustainability.


A brief description of how progress in meeting the plan’s goals is measured:

Hope measures these goals on an on-going basis. The Green Team works to monitor progress in their semimonthly meetings.
