A brief description of the program:
In the fall of 2011, Hope instituted a waste reduction program aimed at reducing waste during residence hall move-in. 36% of waste was diverted from landfills, and 16 cubic yards of landfill airspace, 54 mature trees, 31,780 gallons of water, and 18,614 kilowatt hours of energy were saved. Hope plans to continue this waste reduction and diversion program for future move-ins.
