Hobart and William Smith Colleges is dedicated to providing a safe work environment for all faculty, staff, and students. The Colleges, through strict compliance with local, state and federal environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations, ensures the safety and well-being of its faculty, staff and students.
A Safety Committee and a Chemical Hygiene Committee, made up of key staff members from departments including Human Resources, Campus Safety, lab sciences, Recreation, and Buildings & Grounds, meet on a monthly basis and help keep the community apprised of any EHS issues at the Colleges.
The Colleges promote and communicate its EHS policies via the HWS website, posters distributed throughout campus, and electronic communications (email) to its employees and students.
Environmental, Safety and Health Policy: The Colleges have committed to follow the established EHS Policy endorsed by the Office of the President (Provost).
