Urban Rooftop Apiary
A brief description of the institution’s featured program, initiative, or accomplishment:
The HCC Ybor campus is proud to offer free beehive tours for students, employees, and community members. These tours include an interactive look at our permaculture sites, opening beehives on our rooftop apiary, a honey tasting, and "sweet" pictures holding frames of live honeybees. All located in the heart of Ybor City.

Second Point of Distinction
NEST Sites
A brief description of the second program/initiative/accomplishment:
The HCC Art Gallery and HCC Sustainability collaborated on a project to bring Nourishment, Education, and Social Terraces (NEST) on two of our campus locations.
NEST aims to empower creative solutions for addressing issues of food insecurity, sustainability and inclusion through the creation of accessible spaces to gather, interact, teach and entertain one another.

Third Point of Distinction
Seed Libraries
A brief description of the third program/initiative/accomplishment:
The Office of Sustainability and our campus librarians have been collaborating on a seed library project at all five of our library locations. Our students and community are able to access heirloom varieties of vegetables and flowers for free. Five years and thousands of seeds later, the library is still going strong!
