A brief description of when and why the GHG emissions baseline was adopted:
A firm methodology for calculating greenhouse gas emissions was developed in the 2020-21 academic year. It was decided to collect data from the previous three years when the first inventory was calculated in order to provide a baseline from 2018-19 prior to the pandemic years, which had a profound impact on the college's GHG emissions. Unfortunately during 2018-19, data related to the college's fleet emissions (i.e. gasoline and diesel usage) had not been maintained and could not be included. Nonetheless, we felt it was important to provide calculations from the other sources since college fleet emissions are relatively small.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
The Performance year is the 2021-22 academic year. The 2018-19 academic year was chosen as baseline because it was the first year that HCC GHG were calculated and because it was pre-pandemic.
The data for students and employees for the baseline year comes from the 2020 IPEDS Data Feedback Report.
The data for students and employees for the baseline year comes from the 2020 IPEDS Data Feedback Report.
