Campus Clean up Campaign

A brief description of the campaign:

The campaign is about raising awareness about the scale of the litter problem and getting students/staff thinking about changing their behavior. The cleanup campaign aimed at removing rubbish from the campus grounds, and bushlands in addition to cleaning the desert.


A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:

Clean-up actions resulted in bringing communities effectively together and, by enhancing social bonds, making the HCT community more appreciative of their common environment.
Also, the campaign educates HCT Community about the importance of protecting the environment.

Recycling Campaign

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):

HCT has launched a recycling campaign on its campuses seeking to bring awareness about on- and off-campus recycling. The campaign, organized by The Environmental Club at DBM, seeks to address common misconceptions people have about recycling. The participating students were eligible to receive voluntary hours in exchange for collecting various recyclable materials including Plastic Water bottles, aluminum cans, batteries, toner cartages, and paper. All the collected recyclable material has been given to the Emirates Environmental Group for their recycling action.


A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):

The recycling campaign carried out by HCT has various positive impacts including:
1. Bringing people together by enhancing social bonds, make the HCT community more appreciative of their common environment.
2. Educates HCT Community about the importance of protecting the environment.
3. Conserves our natural resources: recycle paper, save forests and trees, and recycle plastic, which will take up a lot of solid waste and can take centuries to break down.

Earth Day festival.
