Does the institution have a bicycle-sharing program or participate in a local bicycle-sharing program?:
Yes

A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:

Bixi stations (bicycle share system) are also located next of both buildings for those who use this system. HEC has a corporate partnership with BIXI, and its members receive a rebate of 20% when subscribing or renewing subscription.


Does the institution participate in a car sharing program?:
Yes

A brief description of the car sharing program:

A car rental program is offered at the CSC building with Globe; HEC members can rent a car directly on site, using the rental booth, and get immediate access to the car in the underground parking lot. Globe rental car can be brought back to the parking at no cost. Also, HEC directly encourage its users to use the Communauto car sharing program, with cars accessible in nearby parking.

Yes

A brief description of the incentives for fuel efficient vehicles:

Preferred parking spaces are located near the electric car charging station, close to parking entrance, to encourage electric car users to share the charging station and increase their desirability.

Yes

A brief description of the electric vehicle recharging stations:

The Branché au travail program is offered at HEC’s CSC parking lot. Four Level 2 electric charging stations are available. The charging station are located near the entrance as an incitive for drivers to switch to electric car. Charging station are free to use, but users must subscribe to obtain their access card.

No

No, campus is located in urban areas with direct access to subway network and many neighbourhoods in less than 15 min.

No

A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:

COVID-19 allowed HEC Montréal to develop strong co-modal teaching technique and remote work tools. Once the situation is back to normal, these temporary initiatives will be turned into long-term initiatives helping to reduce the impact of commuting. Not applicable for now.
