A brief description of the institution’s sustainability projects fund:

HEC Montréal Student sustainability fund was created in 2019 in agreement between student association and school direction. The fund is funded by student contribution of 0,1$ per course credit. HEC Montréal agreed to put 1$ in the fund for each dollar the student pays. Even if the school put money in the fund, only students project can be financed, and the fund cannot be use to pay for school service (ex. security service, janitorial service, space rental), since the school make these service available to student for free.

A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:

Students have to submit their project through a standard form. SD office coordinator receives requests and ensure forms are complete and receivable. A SD fund committee, composed of school staff (SD office, Secreatary general, Infrastructure office) and student representative (student association, student SD groups) meet every semester to evaluate the project, allocate funds and request modification when necessary.
