Je composte,tu composte…compostons ensemble. (I compost,you compost…compost altogether)
A brief description of the campaign:
Since waste, recycling and organic collections bins were installed in the cafeteria of the institution. To support the new installations, an outreach campaign on the benefits of selective waste collection was done. Each year, students and employees are invited to take part in campaign. Thus, volunteer explain to community the right way to separate their food waste. This campaign was conducted for the first time in 2016, and was reconducted in 2017, 18 and 19. For 2020, due to the COVID-19 lockdown, it was stopped since the buildings operate at 5% capacity.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
A full campus waste audit was conducted in 2019 to evaluate the improvement between 2016 and 2019. In 2019, the recycling rate plunged thanks to all the efforts deployed to reduce paper usage and plastic bottle consumption, and composting rate exploded due to the service level increase and the replacement of disposable/recyclable plastic containers with compostable ones.

Résolument durable / Actively sustainable
A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
In 2018/19, the sustainability office, in collaboration with the communication office, created a new logo and theme to represent all the SD initiatives in the school : Résolument durable / Actively sustainable. This slogan and logo is affixed to documents and promotional materials that represent our vision of a better, more sustainable world. It also helps to distinguish the sustainability office from sustainability in general in the school. This logo and slogan is at the base of HEC's SD communication strategies.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
This new visual identity reaches all our students, staff and faculty, but there are no records of the number of times the logo and slogan was used, it is now part of the school design artist tool kit when creating documents, videos, images or podcasts for the different stakeholders within the school.
