Does the institution compost or mulch waste from grounds keeping, including grass trimmings?:
Yes

A brief description of the composting or mulching program:

Lawn grass trimmings make up only a fraction of the compost pile on campus. Compostable products from our cafeteria as well as food waste make up most of the pile which is then used to fertilize our produce garden. The produce garden completes the circle by providing vegetables for the cafeteria salads and sandwiches.

- The Campus Arboretum Team Leader will utilize sustainable practices in the management of the landscape including Integrated Pest Management, composting landscape waste materials, soil enrichment, preventative maintenance, removal of invasive species, and soil stabilization practices that reduce erosion.
