A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
All new employees are introduced to HPU's "Bus it to HPU" pre-tax benefit program at new employee orientation. This program encourages employees to take public transportation to HPU, by offering a discount of over 50% on Hawaii's bus system. The program also allows employees to have this cost deducted from their paychecks before taxes are taken out. This program is introduced in the Hawai`i Pacific University Employee Benefits Summary packet at orientation, and a "Bus it to HPU" payroll deduction authorization form is also included.
