Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

To determine the weighted campus users, I collected information for the total number of full-time and part-time faculty, staff, and students who resided in Hawai`i and either worked on campus or attended class on campus. Employees who lived off island and students who only took online classes where not included in these numbers, because they would not have an affect on the amount of water used on campus. The total water consumption is for HPU's Hawai`i Loa Campus, which is where all on-campus residents live and where all HPU-owned buildings are located including the cafeteria, residence halls, nursing annex, and HPU's most used academic building consisting of science and nursing labs, classrooms, offices etc. No water consumption data is available for the leased offices and classrooms located on the downtown campus. Water consumption was calculated from the Board of Water Supply for a 12-month period in 2005 and 2012, from May to April.
