Does the institution have strategies in place to safely dispose of all hazardous, special (e.g. coal ash), universal, and non-regulated chemical waste and seek to minimize the presence of these materials on campus?:
Yes

A brief description of steps taken to reduce hazardous, special (e.g. coal ash), universal, and non-regulated chemical waste:

Hawai’i Pacific University (HPU) is committed to providing a safe environment for all its employees. This Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) accomplishes this goal by establishing procedures and practices in accordance with requirements set forth by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) of 1970 and the U.S. Department of Labor including 29 CFR 1910.1450 “Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories”.
The plan is available for the HPU community in HPU Pipeline (HPU online system).

A brief description of how the institution safely disposes of hazardous, universal, and non-regulated chemical waste:

Hazardous waste is collected in a hazardous waste building on campus. We then pay to have the waste picked up and removed from campus.
