A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:
Energy Management: Haverford uses Atrius Energy, a web-based control and energy management system to manage electricity usage across campus. The system enables more efficient energy usage management specific to each building. The reporting tool can generate logs and comparisons between buildings; every year the Committee for Environmental Responsibility, a student-led group, uses the system to carry out a month-long competition between residential buildings on campus. Community members can use the website to learn about energy usage and change their own habits. The public website is below.

Integrated Pest Management Program (grounds) - The College's integrated pest management (IPM) program has enabled the reduced dependency on and the amount of chemicals regulated by EPA. IPM is a comprehensive program for pest control which combines multiple management strategies; including biological, cultural, use of indigenous plants, and chemicals with lower toxicity to humans. Sustainable Purchasing: Haverford’s chief sustainability officer created the sustainable purchasing policy below which outlines guidelines for sustainable purchasing categorically. It includes a commitment to green cleaning.

Water usage: The College has also actively engaged in efforts to conserve and manage water on both systems-wide and local levels.

Stokes Hall Green Roof- 5,700 square foot extensive green roof on academic building.

Meadows-Haverford has recently converted seven acres of mown turf into meadow.

Haverford's main parking lot consists of 170 porous paving parking spots.
