Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Dark sky friendly lighting installments

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

The outcome of a plenary resolution, a policy change agreed upon by the student body, the college has installed dark sky friendly lighting installments. This work has taken place over the 2023-2024 fiscal year. The innovation decreases light polution on campus, benefitting local wildlife which is abundant in Haverford's arboretum, the sleep cycle of students, and with more targeted lighting, the innovation also saves energy. The installments can be found along the pathway to the west of Founders Hall and the south end of Harris Road adjacent to Barclay Hall. Over the next eight years, Facilities Management plans to replace all 280 light poles across the campus.
