The Council on Sustainability and Social Responsibility (CSSR) is charged with advancing the study and practice of sustainability at Haverford, marked by commitments to environmental stewardship and social responsibility within the context of the College’s Quaker values and educational mission.
The Committee for Environmental Responsibility (CER) was created by the students, faculty and staff of Haverford College and founded on the socially responsible principles of the college. CER's mission is to educate our community about global environmental concerns, and to be a positive example for students at Haverford and other colleges to follow. CER works to ensure that environmental concern is an integral part of daily life at Haverford informing our curriculum, administrative decisions, and community practices.

The position of "Sustainability Fellow" began in the Fall of 2019. So far the fellow has been responsible for a Mini-Fridge/End of Year Waste Sale, a sustainability brown bag lunch outreach series, and has worked alongside the Committee for Environmental Responsibility to coordinate the logistics of the new food waste digester.
