Over the course of two weeks in Fall 2022 employees were surveyed with a "Employee Engagement" survey. All employees were emailed and provided a link to the Google form survey and two subsequent reminders were sent. Two randomly selected employees were given 12-ounce stainless steel water bottles to incentivize participation.

A brief description of how representative samples were reached (if applicable) and how the cultural assessment is administered:
Some questions were borrowed, with permission, from institutions like Butler University, American University (DC),and Dickinson University. All Hanover employees were invited to participate.
A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment:
Sixty four employees (about 15% of all employees) responded to the survey, with half identifying as faculty and half as staff.

How strongly do you agree with this statement? "Supporting Hanover's sustainability efforts is part of my job. 71.9% agree or strongly agree.
How strongly do you agree with this statement? "Hanover encourages employees to be sustainable at the workplace." 17.2% agree and zero strongly agree.
How well informed do you feel you are about sustainability events and programs at Hanover? 47.6% agree or strongly agree.
We also learned that 61% of employees had participated in the campus Free Store, 29.3% had attended a sustainability speaker, and 87.8% had participated in one of our e-waste recycling days.
