A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):

Offerings available to students:
The GustieWELL Office is a free resource for all students that strives to infuse wellness into the everyday lifestyles of students, through the promotion of personal responsibility, positive social norms, and campus engagement.

The Peer Assistants (PAs) are an integral part of the Gustie WELL Office and mission. This selected group of elite student leaders are dedicated to promoting a culture of well-being by providing quality wellness education and resources that support and enhance the lifestyles of our students. The office’s areas of focus include: Chemical Health, Mental Health & Stress Management, Healthy Relationships, Sleep, and Nutrition & Physical Activity. The PAs support these efforts to equip students with health-related knowledge by providing educational programs/workshops, awareness campaigns, social activities, and assisting students in accessing resources on topics such as: Stress Management & Resilience, Chemical Health, Mental Health, Nutrition and Fitness, and Healthy Relationship.

The Counseling Center is another free resource for students where they can enhance their personal development and academic achievement. At times, students experience personal, relational, social, or academic difficulties which they cannot fully resolve on their own, and find it helpful to talk to a professional counselor about their concerns. In order to help students with such difficulties, the Counseling Center provides a variety of confidential services such as: Individual and couple counseling, Triage/Emergency Appointments, and various workshops and groups.

Offerings available to employees:
Wellness as a Community (WaaC) is a health and wellness opportunity for employees. This program offers free fitness classes for employees. Each class is designed to challenge all fitness levels and are intended to encourage teamwork. These classes include: Beginner Yoga, Dancer Pose, Gentle Yoga, 3-2-1 workout, Legs Workout, Body Weight Workouts, Bonus YIN, Pyramid, Full Body HIIT, and Virtual 1:1 Student Personal Training.
