A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:

Gustavus Adolphus College is proactive in rainwater management by the use of green infrastructure. For example, the college utilizes three surface basins to detain rainwater, promote infiltration, and prevent downstream flooding. The college also utilizes a number of rain gardens and perforated underground piping systems to infiltrate collected rainwater. Other means of Low Impact Development include the use of pervious pavers in the parking lot to the college’s Arboretum. In addition, the college utilizes a rainwater collection system to help provide irrigation for the college microfarm’s greenhouse.

The entire Gustavus Adolphus College Campus is within the City of Saint Peter’s Corporate Limits. Therefore, the college complies with the City of Saint Peter’s Stormwater Policy noted in Article X, Chapter 52, of the City Code. A copy of the City Code is attached.
