Total energy consumption (electric and non-electric)

Total energy consumption, performance year:
178,407.42 MMBtu

Clean and renewable energy sources

Clean and renewable electricity

Clean and renewable electricity (report kilowatt-hours):
kWh MMBtu
Imported electricity from certified/verified clean and renewable sources (i.e., bundled green power purchases) 0 Kilowatt-hours 0 MMBtu
Electricity from on-site, clean and renewable sources (rights retained/retired) 129,746 Kilowatt-hours 442.69 MMBtu

A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable electricity:
---

A brief description of the on-site renewable electricity generating facilities/devices:
Gustavus possesses Solar electric panels on two academic buildings. On Beck Academic Hall there is a 40 KW system installed by ABLE Energy, Inc and on Olin Hall there are two different types of panels: TenK 180 Watt panels and Siliken 240 Watt PV panels. Additionally, Gustavus has one Skystream 3.7 turbine (2.1 KW rated power @ 24.6 mph) operating near the Drenttel Golf Facility.

Clean and renewable thermal energy

Clean and renewable thermal energy (report MMBtu):
MMBtu
Clean and renewable stationary fuels used on-site to generate thermal energy 458 MMBtu
Imported steam, hot water, and/or chilled water from certified/verified clean and renewable sources 0 MMBtu

A brief description of the clean and renewable stationary fuels:
Gustavus has solar thermal systems on several campus buildings. Beck Hall has the largest solar thermal installation of 60 flat plate solar thermal collectors, used for summer reheat and winter heating load. The Lund athletic complex utilizes 24 flat plate collectors for its year round load—pool and water heating. The Jackson Campus Center has sixteen ballast-mounted Next Generation NGE-224-TU panels, used for year round water heating load. The Melva Lind Interpretive Center in the Arboretum features a side-by-side demonstration of flat plate (Solar Skies) and evacuated tube solar (Apricus) collectors which supplement building heat. The campus farm’s greenhouse also utilizes solar thermal collector panels to heat the greenhouse beds during colder months.

A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable thermal energy:
---

Unbundled renewable energy products

Unbundled renewable energy products (report kWh):
kWh MMBtu
Purchased RECs, GOs, I-RECs or equivalent unbundled renewable energy products certified by a third party 0 Kilowatt-hours 0 MMBtu

A brief description of the unbundled renewable energy products:
---

Metrics used in scoring
