A brief description of the sustainability office:
“Guilford College has a long-standing commitment to environmental protection. We balance concern for clean air and water, efficient energy, and the future of our planet with the realities of financial resources and community involvement. Graduating seniors have established and contributed to a "Green Fund" to support these efforts. This has also been re-affirmed by my signing the Presidents Climate Commitment in which the college will address global warming by planning for long-term institutional climate neutrality. We have installed solar panels on Shore Hall, recently completed a “green" renovation of Archdale Hall, have a campus master plan that provides for trees and greenery, and support a campus Environmental Sustainability Council with an annual budget appropriation."
