Does the institution have sustainability-themed housing (residential floor or hall, or theme house) where residents learn about sustainability together and to which residents must apply?:
Yes
A brief description of the themed housing:
Although Guilford does not have a permanent sustainability-themed house we do offer themed houses every year that students can apply to live in. During the past five years, the Pines House has been Guilford’s green-living house. Students follow a lifestyle of environmentally sound living and work together to keep their carbon footprint low and the house as sustainable as possible. Residents of this house participate in communal meals (5 times a week), composting, weekly house meetings, and implement both electricity and water reduction strategies.
