A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s), including information to support each affirmative response above :
Counseling, referral and wellbeing services are available for all students, staff, and faculty, including part time staff. For employees, our counselors will assist with finding other counselors and will refer out if needed. For example, a staff member may be required to attend three counseling sessions for anger management as part of a formal reprimand/written warning. Our counselors may then refer this staff member out for further counseling, if needed. The Wellness Center at Green Mountain College provides mental health counseling, wellness and health promotion programs and medical referral services for enrolled students. Students can access these services by calling or walking into the Center. The Wellness Center is staffed by two licensed mental health professionals. Full-time faculty and staff have both inpatient and outpatient mental health care provided through the institution's medical insurance provider. The Wellness Center staff provide crisis intervention and critical incident debriefing services for the entire campus community including faculty, staff and students. Wellness programs sponsored by the center such as yoga, tribal dance and open movement studio sessions are also open and free for all faculty, staff and students.
