The sustainability office conducted a transportation survey in the spring of 2017 that asked a number of transportation questions, including primary mode of transportation for commuting to campus. The survey was designed by a former transportation research scholar from University of Vermont's Transportation Center with input from the current director of sustainability and a special focus group dedicated to carpooling.
The student response rate was 31%. Surveys were emailed to the population and survey responses were also collected in person aided by work study students with laptops sitting in the high traffic area of the student center during lunch time.
