There are photovoltaic panels on the roof of the Muskegon Innovation Hub, on the Kennedy Engineering Building, and on the Kelly Family Sports Center. Additionally, there is a solar garden on GVSU's campus in partnership with Consumers Energy; GVSU subscribes to or 1/6th of the solar garden.
