A brief description of the incentive program(s):

The Grand Valley Faculty Teaching and Learning Center (FTLC) has offered a variety of opportunities which have supported sustainability course development activity.


A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:

Faculty Learning Communities bring faculty together for a semester-long conversation on a certain topic; recent conversations have been about sustainability in the curriculum and publicly engaged scholarship.

Faculty Conference Travel Grants can support faculty to attend sustainability conferences.

Teaching Innovation Grants have been used to promote paperless classrooms and to provide tools for classes at the Sustainable Agriculture Project.
