Which of the following best describes the structure of the assessment? The assessment is administered as a::
Pre- and post-assessment to the same cohort or to representative samples in both a pre- and post-test

A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:
In previous years, our main survey was included as part of a transportation survey (it was done that way for simplicity, to have one survey instead of multiple surveys). As sustainability grows at GVSU, we decided to pilot a sustainability-specific survey with a follow-up assessment and hope to expand on this in future years.
A brief description of how a representative sample was reached (if applicable) and how the assessment(s) were administered :
The survey was sent to a representative sample selected by our institutional analysis department. It was sent via email and administered using Qualmetrics. The exact same survey is given for pre and post to see if responses have changed over the course of the students time at GVSU. The survey is conducted every other year.
A brief summary of results from the literacy assessment(s):
Students were most aware of very visible sustainability efforts on campus (ie. green roofs, the bus system). About 45% of students were aware of our office and scored highly in terms of sustainability literacy; however, we recognize that this is a small sample and look forward to expanding this survey in the future.
