Does the institution have a sustainability plan that meets the criteria for this credit?:
Yes

A brief description of how multiple stakeholder groups were involved in developing the plan:

The planning structure began with the founding of the Strategic Positioning Committee, a standing committee comprising representatives of the university’s constituent groups. The Strategic Plan 2010-2015 which includes a campus sustainability plan is the result of the Committee’s engagement of the university community in the strategic planning process. The plan was endorsed by the Academic Senate in September 2009, and approved by the university’s Board of Trustees in October 2009.

A brief description of the plan’s measurable goals :

Our strategic plan is built around seven values that define Grand Valley: effective teaching, liberal education, scholarship, service, inclusiveness, community, and sustainability. These values are embedded in eight strategic goals; as we achieve these goals, our values become intrinsic characteristics of the Grand Valley community.

A brief description of how progress in meeting the plan’s goals is measured:

With connections to Grand Valley’s seven values, our accountability measures are based on our status as a public, four-year university in Michigan’s second largest metropolitan region. Our goals and objectives spring from the university’s values and provide a way to measure and report progress to university stakeholders. Responsibility for achieving these goals is embedded in the planning and assessment process for each division, department, unit, and individual in the university community.
