A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
The Intercultural Competence and Experience Certificate is available to all undergraduates. A version for graduate students will be available in two years. This certificate is comprised of both academics and experience. It is five courses, and several of them count for other requirements at the university, so it is not a burden for students to do this optional certificate. Three new classes were created for the certificate, Introduction to Intercultural Competence and Communication, a practicum, and a culminating seminar. Individual student progress is assessed using the IDI Assessment Tool.
