A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the committee(s), office(s), and/or officer(s) during the previous three years:
Goucher's main committee for this purpose is the Goucher Environmental Sustainability Advisory Council, which is co-chaired by Will Lederer (Special Assistant to the President) and a student, Todd Troester. The council was formed in 2007 shortly after President Ungar signed the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC).
The role of GESAC has somewhat morphed since its creation. Composed of staff, faculty, and student members, the group now serves two main purposes. The first is to provide an opportunity for leaders in Goucher's environmental sustainability efforts to come together and discuss ongoing projects, challenges, etc. Secondly, GESAC oversees the application process for the Green Fund, through which students can apply for money to fund sustainability projects.
