A brief description of the graduate degree program (1st program):
Goucher's MA in Environmental Studies is an applied program that draws from the research methodologies and perspectives of such fields as philosophy of science, sociology, applied anthropology, cultural geography, economics, media studies, political science, ecology, and social entrepreneurship. Providing students with an integrated set of tools to work with communities, organizations, and researchers.
We focus on the importance of social and cultural contexts in understanding and responding to environmental issues. Recognizing that environmental practitioners who may not be scientists must still be able to engage in productive and meaningful dialogue with colleagues in the sciences, Goucher's program will provide the science literacy and quantitative skills necessary to engage all constituencies in these fields.

For students interested in pursuing advanced degrees in environmental studies, Goucher offers accelerated degree programs in which students can earn both the Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts in Environmental Studies in five years.
Through these programs, students who have at least a 3.0 grade point average and who have attained junior status may take up to nine graduate credits while they are still undergraduates. These nine graduate credits apply to the 120 credits required for the bachelor's degree, as well as to the credits required for the master's degree. The 4+1 programs typically require two to three summers of coursework

Dual Degree Program
None
A brief description of the graduate degree program (3rd program):
Goucher College has established a dual-degree masters program though which students earn two master's degrees at once. In this option, students can explore and develop their skills in two domains (e.g., cultural sustainability and environmental studies). To receive two MA degrees, students will complete a total of 66 credits; to complete an MFA and an MA, students complete a total of 90 credits. Classes are drawn from across both curricula. The capstone, which is the culmination of a student's work for the degrees, would be drawn from topics shared in both programs.
