Percentage of new employees that are offered orientation and/or outreach and guidance materials that cover sustainability topics:
25
A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
The Sustainability Coordinator has a session as part of new employee orientation. The orientation is for 100% of new employees, but because we have only recently started this educational program, we are only claiming 25% of the credit available. Topics presented include the college's commitment to achieving carbon neutrality as described in our 2016 Climate Action Plan, measures taken in that direction, how sustainability is broader than use of energy extending to social justice areas as well, and actions individual employees can take to support this work (areas of recycling, commuting, reusable water bottles and coffee cups, composting in the dining hall, turning out lights when not in use, etc.).
