Student sustainability research incentives

A brief description of the student sustainability research program:
The Hickory Scholars summer research program is a paid opportunity for students to participate in research specifically pertaining to sustainability. The program is open to undergraduate students from all disciplines. The 2019 Hickory Scholars participants took on the task of completing the first STARS assessment for Goshen College since 2014.
Faculty sustainability research incentives

A brief description of the faculty sustainability research program:
The Maple Scholars/Hickory Scholars program pairs faculty members with student interns to conduct research for 8 weeks each summer. The faculty members receive stipends on top of their regular salary. Although the program is not limited to sustainability research, several projects each year are sustainability-related. Hickory Scholar research is coordinated with the Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center faculty and is always sustainability-related. Maple Scholar research may or may not be sustainability-related.

The Harold and Wilma Good Library offers subject guides on the topic of sustainability. There is also a library located at the Merry Lea Learning Center which offers resources covering numerous sustainability topics.
