Employee Sustainability Ambassador Program
A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):
Employees develop their leadership skills through the lens of sustainability. Participants are learning effective leadership techniques for leading small groups, completing individual projects, and advocating for change within their individual departments within the university.
A brief description of the employee educators program’s target audience (1st program):
The target audience of this program is the non-academic staff and interested faculty within the offices and departments of Gonzaga University. Employee ambassadors work to share different sustainability-related information and practices, directly or indirectly, to their co-workers, to encourage a more sustainability-focused office environment.

2nd Program
The Cataldo Project
A brief description of the employee educators program (2nd program):
The Cataldo Project conducts workshops, seminars, and other programs to develop deeper environmental and sustainability knowledge and skills of faculty, as well as to assist them in revising their courses to include sustainability concepts. Students enrolled in these courses receive broad, continuing and repeated exposure to sustainability concepts throughout their academic experience that is directly related to the quality of content received in the program. The Cataldo Project facilitates the process of faculty development by providing financial and intellectual support, as well as access to resources, information, and environmental experts.
The workshop is administered by the Gonzaga University Faculty Fellow for Sustainability, who works with former workshop participants and other university faculty and staff, to educate their peers on incorporating sustainability into their curriculum.

The target audience has been the academic faculty of Gonzaga University, however the Cataldo Project workshop is becoming open to other university faculty as an AASHE Center for Sustainability Across the Curriculum.
