As with Operations Credit 3, our sustainable purchasing and design policy includes many but not all of the required areas for an official, green building policy. It includes the requirement that green purchasing concepts shall be integrated into architectural designs, final construction documents and into the final construction of all Gonzaga buildings, renovations of property or facilities owned by Gonzaga. In addition, all new campus construction and large renovations will target the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Silver standard or equivalent. Likewise, landscape structures constructed of recycled content materials are encouraged.
