Gettysburg College's president Janet Morgan Riggs signed the American College and University President's Climate Commitment (designed by ACUPCC) in 2007.

The College has guidelines for LEED certification of new buildings and renovations. We strive to incorporate measures that will allow all new buildings to be LEED certified, but certification will not necessarily be required.

In the "Floor area of building space that was designed and constructed in accordance with green building policies or guidelines but NOT certified" section we chose to include Glatfelter, McCreary, and 18,800 from our 2011 STARS report.
In the "Total floor area of eligible building space (design and construction)" section, we included the College Union Building (CUB) and Plank, in addition to the floor area not certified (listed above) and the Jaeger Center.
