Does the institution have sustainability-themed housing (residential floor or hall, or theme house) where residents learn about sustainability together and to which residents must apply?:
Yes

A brief description of the themed housing:

The Gettysburg Farmhouse was established in 2009 as the sustainability-themed house on campus. Ten students with a pronounced interest in environmentally sound and socially just living work together to promote sustainability awareness on campus. They grow a small-scale vegetable garden, compost all food waste, can and preserve produce, purchase and cook food cooperatively, and utilize a rainbarrel and clothesline. Numerous potlucks are held on a regular basis to promote and encourage student activism around sustainability, and the house members worked with various departments on campus (Facilities, Dining, Women's Center, Center for Public Service, ES Department, etc.) on various programs and initiatives to increase sustainability efforts on campus. The house is now a permanent residence on campus and will continue to play a leading role in shaping and influencing sustainability at the college.
