Currently PantherDining does not have a formal methodology for local purchases. As a University, we strive to encourage community based purchases at all times. We are currently working with our purchasing/inventory software (FoodPro) in conjunction with vendors to tag local and community based purchases as well sustainable purchases to make that data available to our GSU Community via our website.

While our short term goal is go get this module running for both dining halls by Dec. 2015, in the next year we are looking to expand the module to accommodate our catering, concessions and retail operations.

While Georgia State University Insourced PantherDining have not currently achieved certification in the accreditation's above, our dining halls are currently working with Green Restaurant Association to become Green Restaurant Certified (https://www.dinegreen.com/). We are currently perusing certification in which we hope to achieve in 2015 year.

In addition to achieving Green Restaurant Certification, we are also teaming up with Georgia Grown to showcase locally produced purchases at the dining halls.
