Sustainability tours are given at request to campus classes and off-campus organizations. Our campus garden and recycling are also generally highlighted during campus tours for potential new students.

Food & Dining

Campus Sustainability Projects have highlighted the amount of food wasted at the dining halls and have contributed to knowledge across the dining halls on one of our campuses. We also discuss our trayless dining options, as well as our pulper which removes the water from our food waste, diminishing the amount of space food waste creates by 90%

Grounds

Yes

A brief description of the projects and how they contribute to understanding or advancing sustainability in relation to Grounds:
The Sustainability programmatic arm regularly has partnered with Facilities to engage in invasive species removal and tree planting throughout campus. The Biology Department also utilized the grounds to educate their students within over 10 of its courses.

Waste

The Sustainability programmatic arm has conducted waste audits across campus to understand more about the university's waste stream and how to increase diversion rates and lower contamination.

Water

A brief description of the projects and how they contribute to understanding or advancing sustainability in relation to Water:
A campus sustainability project funded a purple piping project which utilizes reused water to service 50% of our areas across the Statesboro campus. There is also interpretive signage on campus which helps educate students/campus community on what this piping is and where the water comes from. We also utilize this to educate students during campus sustainability tours.
