Percentage of employees assessed, directly or by representative sample:
96.30

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
Faculty were invited by email to participate in the Georgia Tech Climate Assessment Survey in February and March of 2022. Two reminders were sent to increase response rates. Of the 4,667 faculty and postdoctoral fellows invited to participate in the survey, 720 responded for an overall response rate of 15.4 percent and a sampling error (95 percent confidence interval) of 3.4 percent. Chi Square Goodness of Fit Tests (p < 0.01) revealed that the respondents were not representative of the overall faculty population in terms of gender identity, faculty classification, division, or ethnicity. The Institute results are weighted on all these factors to portray the population more accurately. Faculty assessment on interactions with colleagues and support from supervisors, climate in school/academic unit, climate at Georgia Tech, diversity, and marginalization were all assessed.

Staff were invited by email to complete the Climate Assessment Staff Survey via the web in Spring 2022. Two reminders were sent to increase response rates. Of the 4,604 employees invited, a total of 1,195 responded to the survey, for an overall response rate of 25.9 percent, and a sampling error (95 percent confidence interval) of 2.4 percent. Chi Square Goodness of Fit Tests (p < 0.01) revealed that the respondents were not proportionally representative of the overall staff population based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, or office of primary appointment. The Institute results presented in this report are weighted on all these traits to portray the population more accurately.

9271 employees assessed
9627 total employees
= 96.3% employees assessed related to employee satisfaction.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
At the conclusion of these surveys, the results were shared with Institute leadership who created strategies that allow Tech to build on its strengths and identify areas where we can improve our campus climate and culture. The survey data was used to develop actionable strategies related to the diversity and inclusion priorities of the new 2030 Institute Strategic Plan. Several town halls and focus groups were held to gain further insight.
