Carpool Permit
Carpooling is an environmentally friendly way for Georgia Tech students, faculty, and staff to commute to campus and also to share the cost a campus parking permit. The carpool permit costs $100 less than the Annual Individual Permit and can be split among carpool members.
Georgia Commute Options
Georgia Tech students and employees can find carpool partners and see incentives through the Georgia Commute Options website or GA Commute app (iOS or Android). This service offers the ability to choose potential carpool partners within the GT community. Georgia Commute Options also provides additional commuter support, such as Guaranteed Ride Home and Route Matching.
Zipcar
For students or employees that wish to borrow a vehicle for brief periods, Zipcars are available at several locations on campus. Zipcar is a membership-based car sharing company that provides members access to a variety of new fuel-efficient vehicles. Georgia Tech’s collaboration with Zipcar provides convenient pickup locations and discounts for students, faculty, and staff.

Georgia Tech offers 40+ electric vehicle charging stations for use by students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Level 1 (120v) and Level 2 (240v) electric vehicle charging stations are provided at several locations throughout the campus. Level 1 charging stations are available to GT permit holders and Level 2 charging stations are available to GT permit holders and visitors.
Level 1 charging stations are located in the W23 (North Deck/State Street), E40 (Klaus), E48 (Wardlaw), W10 (CRC) and the E70 (GCATT) parking decks. EV drivers choosing to use a Level 1 station must have a valid GT permit for the appropriate deck and an EV charging permit decal properly displayed.
Level 2 charging stations are in the following locations, where fees and permit requirements vary:
6 spaces in Area 4 Visitors Lot – Ferst Drive/State Street
4 spaces in W02 Deck – Student Center
12 spaces in W22 Deck – Dalney
4 spaces in W23 Deck - North Deck at State Street
4 spaces in WR30 Deck – Curran

Campus Transit
Georgia Tech provides fare-free transit service to several adjacent neighborhoods as well as the nearest MARTA train station (Midtown Station & North Avenue Station). Both transit options, in conjunction with the cost of parking on campus, encourage and incentivize employees and students to live within close proximity to our campus transit system.
The Stingerette is a demand-response, shared-ride transportation service for Georgia Tech students aimed to provide safe and efficient evening transportation on Georgia Tech's campus and the neighborhoods in-between.

Regional Transit
Georgia Tech encourages students, faculty, and staff to use cleaner commutes by offering discounted monthly transit passes for Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) services. MARTA passes for students and employees are also available monthly via the PTS office. Faculty and staff are also eligible for discounted passes via payroll deduction for the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) Xpress bus system, CobbLinc, and Gwinnett County Transit.

Georgia Tech has also partnered with Midtown Alliance to provide eco-friendly commute options to and from the midtown area. Midtown Alliance offers commuter reward incentives and free personalized route planning for Georgia Tech employees to plan alternative mode commutes.

Bicycle and Personal Mobility Device Resources
Georgia Tech encourages bicycling to and around campus as a healthy, convenient, and low-cost form of transportation. Students, faculty and staff can bike to traverse the campus and surrounding areas while reducing traffic congestion on area streets. Outdoor Dero Fix-It public bike repair stations are located throughout campus and are free for all to use. Several parking decks on campus feature secure, covered bike parking for commuters. There are several dockless, shareable mobility device services operating throughout the city of Atlanta that enable people to commute to and around the Georgia Tech campus.

Bird, Lime and Spin scooters, operating in Atlanta per city ordinance, are allowed to be driven to and on campus, providing another micromobility solution to commuting to and traveling on campus.
