A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
Georgia Tech’s Parking and Transportation Services distributes an electronic survey to undergraduate and graduate students annually. The student responses from the October 2022 survey were analyzed to determine the recent average commuting behavior for the student body. The survey is sent to a randomly selected set of 7500 students who live off campus and 2500 students who either live on or off campus. There were 829 analyzable student responses representing approximately 2.3% of the student body. The survey collects data from each respondent for the commuting mode they use each day, the distance they are commuting, and their awareness and usage of alternative transit programs provided by the institution.

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:
Georgia Tech’s Parking and Transportation Services distributes an electronic survey to employees (faculty and staff) annually. The employee responses from the October 2022 survey were analyzed to determine the recent average commuting behavior for the employee group. The survey is sent to a randomly selected set of 4,000 employees. There were 734 analyzable employee responses representing approximately 8.1% of Georgia Tech employees. The survey collects data from each respondent for the commuting mode they use each day, the distance they are commuting, and their awareness and usage of alternative transit programs provided by the institution.
