Does the institution host a peer-to-peer textbook exchange program, textbook lending library, or alternate textbook project?:
Yes
A brief description of the textbook exchange program, textbook lending library, or alternate textbook project:
To reduce the financial burden and create access to course materials, the Georgia Tech Library offers two major areas of support for textbook affordability. Affordable learning resources and Open Educational Resources (OER) are an important part of teaching at Georgia Tech. Faculty would place print monographs and course packs on hold for students in their classes as part of the course reserves system. In the digital age however, fFaculty can use a variety of Library services (such as e-books, journals, streaming media, and tutorials) to replace conventional textbooks. The Library seeks to support everyone and will work with students to reduce textbook costs. They will also provide students with eBooks of class materials upon request. Further, the campus bookstore will price match textbooks with some exceptions.

Does the institution provide incentives for academic staff that explicitly encourage the authorship, peer review, and/or adoption of open access textbooks?:
Yes
A brief description of the incentives to encourage the authorship, peer review, and/or adoption of open access textbooks:
Georgia Tech is a proud partner of Affordable Learning Georgia (ALG). ALG was created by the University System of Georgia in 2013 to find alternatives to the use of expensive, commercial textbooks. Since 2014, ALG offers financial support for faculty transforming their courses to low cost, either through the use of OERs, library materials, or low/no cost resources; creating open textbooks through the UNG Press; making grant supported open materials available through the GALILEO Open Learning Materials; and raising awareness on campus.
