Institution type:
Doctoral/Research

Institutional control:
Public

A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
For the purposes of meeting consistent boundaries as defined by our utilities management and our green house gas inventory, we have determined that Georgia Tech's boundary include contiguous campus in Atlanta main campus AND include Marietta owned buildings where Georgia Tech has operational control. Other Georgia Tech facilities/locations that are not directly contiguous to the main campus are not considered in the calculation. These other excluded facilities include the Savannah, GA Campus, international locations and all other outlying Georgia Tech owned facilities in Marietta, GA.

This report includes 100% owned buildings by GT Affiliates. Contiguous boundary only includes buildings under a lease agreement where Georgia Tech or an Affiliate occupies 100% of the building’s space.

Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? Included?
Agricultural school No No
Medical school No No
Other professional school with labs or clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) No No
Museum No No
Satellite campus Yes No
Farm larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres No No
Agricultural experiment station larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres No No
Hospital No No

The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:
Georgia Tech’s boundary for the report supports a portfolio where the institute has control. Per STARS guidelines, leased space is excluded unless it is 100% occupied by Georgia Tech. The Savannah, GA campus is excluded because Georgia Tech does not have 100% operational control of the spaces and there is not sufficient data to include in the report. Operational control means Georgia Tech does not oversee the ownership or building services of a space, such as building maintenance, cleaning, etc.
