Work Green

A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):
Georgia Tech’s Work Green is a certification program designed to recognize and celebrate staff and faculty who have taken the lead in promoting sustainable practices in the workplace. The certification process requires staff and faculty to report the sustainable practices used in their office in the areas of energy and water efficiency, waste management, engagement, safe and healthy environments, purchasing, transportation, and innovation. Education is provided to increase the implementation of sustainable practices and a mini-grant program is available to support implementation of changes.

A brief description of the employee educators program’s target audience (1st program):
The program focused on Work Green Champions, staff who are trained through the provision of educational materials and on site consulting from Office of Campus Sustainability staff to educate their peers on sustainability issues. Work Green Champions also have access to a mini-grant program through Work Green to support implementation of projects within their office spaces.

Staff Council - Campus Physical Environment Committee

A brief description of the employee educators program (2nd program):
In conjunction with Staff Council, establish clear communication channels for staff to a) offer input and voice concerns regarding the campus physical environment and b) be made aware of current campus amenities and receive updates on ongoing projects. Continue to work with CPSM and Facilities Management to determine feasibility of adding outdoor amenities including bicycle racks, scooter parking areas, and wayfinding.

Committee Details
This committee shall focus on topics that may include but are not limited to: considerations that Georgia Tech is a multi-campus Institute accessibility to campus security and safety of the campus environment
transportation and parking needs to and from each campus and around campus
consideration that Georgia Tech campuses operate on a 24-hour/7 day a week schedule sustainability for each campus to reduce its carbon footprint
