A brief description of the program or practice:

Georgia Tech is unique in that it has a Landscape Master Plan and a Land Use Plan in addition to its Campus Master Plan.

Xeriscaping is a significant feature in our Landscape Master Plan and Eco-Commons performance landscaping.
Landscape design for the campus landscape follows the seven Xeriscape principles; planning and design, soil analysis, practical turf areas, appropriate plant selection, efficient irrigation, use of mulching and appropriate maintenance program. Klaus, ES&T, Old CE, etc. use drought tolerant native plants as part of the Xeriscape program on campus.
